what baits would be reccomended for use during the colder months for carp? i hope to get out quite abit during winter but also going to learn a bit about piking aswell even though im s**t scared of them!!! any help is welcome

what about in the boilies? what boilies would you recomend? would you put a bed of particles out or just hemp or not bother in winter??

yes a bed of small particles or hemp, and the pineapple boillies have worked for me, or anything hi viz.....

but most of all be confident...

then dont touch it..

unless your on a day session then being mobile may get you a bonus fish

i no this is an old post but ive been useing live system from cc moore over the winter and had some decent fish (before the freeze and last week) out with them and also just got the new n-gage xp not used this yet but been looking out to see how its been doing and so far so good somthing to look in to.

well not used the n-gage yet but the live system done me ok here is a few pic of some of winter carp this winter, winter baits 19lbinthecoldnightstubbs this one was from stubbs hall at hampole just simple rig( bottom) 19lb mirrow the begining of dec 48hr session 14ml bottom bait with little stick with krushed boilie soaked in condensed milk a few freebies round winter baits Wintercarp same place same bait and same presentation . winter baits Goldie this one little differant just single bottom bait tipped with bit of corn

winter baits Fairview14lb well differant venue this was fairveiw at selby 5th of dec same bait little stick of crushed hemp slack line as i was fished under bush of the platform 16lb after a 20hr wait just breaking day light the pond came to life 3 fish out in an hour just the 1 for me only had 24hr when home for 10 that morning but same set up as before at stubbs hall as above

right last venue is my local (bolton brick yard) this is were most of my fishing is done 12lb winter baits Linear we was on a social with club members on this night i had this one live system again with stringer of boilies on, it was about 10 at night and was in my bivvy chilling out keeping warm when rod went in to life big run went right up the end of the pond and took out lad in next peg to me and was a good fight as i was playing this fish it was in a mess with other lines round it took some doing 20 mins playing it but one of the new stock we had put in last yr stock of carp is round about 300 carp we hope to have a 30 out of new stock this yr as back end a 28lb 12oz simo came out and there is a few more at this size about, the fish ive had over winter im very pleased with . winter baits Snow this night i blanked but and must say it was last winter

Nice job I hated doing it as well because of my dyslexia, but the lads are so good on here you just get on with it. Also I do have something that’s worth reading every now and then ok I give it 20% of interest and 80% bollox lol!
