Re: fizzing baits
haha
been around for a few years with using alka seltzer...
some people have put bi carb in the ground bait to...
it is a reverse really of using a bagging waggler...
something to take a serious look at is Solar's Up 'n Down ground bait and if you mix this firm you can use it as an illegal floating ground bait... just take the weights off the feeder....
you can have fun with carp in the upper layers...
hope this has helped...

Re: fizzing baits
excuse me for sounding dumb but the general idea of these "fizzing" baits is that they leak off a constant trail from the bottom to the surface?

thats the one with it steadily bubbling away it moves food particles actively into the water around your rig to draw carp to the hook bait no matter what level they are swimming at.

Re: fizzing baits
i may have to give that a go. my favourite groundbait mix is a very active one that does a similar sort of thing just not quite as extreem with the fizzing (70% sensas explosive feeder and 30% sensas lake or river depending where i am)

Most do it including Richworth for £18 a KG...!!!
go to the bird food stores as that is where the origins of RR come from as used for birds and food clouring of plumes...
it'll be a lot cheaper too....
