catfishing in essex

The one and only Cat I have caught was a 9lb fish from Adams pool ,The CCG's water, and that took a popped up livebait. And that seemed to be the best bait at the time for most anglers on there.

a 9lber would put a smile on my face at least i'd know i was doing thing right, i'm going to try do a 72hr catfish sesh this year. i'm thinking the longer i stay there the better chance i will stand of getting one

catfish isn't something i've really put effort into catching, wouldn't mind giving it ago tho ...

there isn't a great deal of waters up this way with em in. i travel to scunthorpe to target them its probably the catfish capital of the north is scunthorpe

yeah i would have to agree not many waters with them in up here

on the great rod race with matt n mick they travelled all the way to scunny for the cats and when you think of the waters they have at thier disspossal ya can't help but wonder why they came all the way up here, and they blanked haha. from talking to the local lads in scunny the lake they fished on the rod race charge upto £50 a night its apparently got em to 90lb

Check out the catfish conservation group website. They have a water near Reditch in the midlands, and might be of interest to those wanting to catch one.

are the midlands a bit further south from linconshire? i travel about 80mile to newark thats south linconshire i think its robbin hoods teritorry if that means owt
