new to catfishing Empty new to catfishing

hi im new to catfishing and want to give it a go but i dont know if i have to buy a certain rods i have nash hooligun rods with a 3lb test cure will they be ok or will they snap? thanks

Should be fine.

Make sure you have 15lb+ mainline and a strong hooklength.

Unless you're going for huge cats in which case, get some braid

the rods though, i reckon, will be ok.

Im no expert but the classic baits are big chunk of luncheon meat hair rigged onto a size 6/4 hook and a 2/3oz lead on a running rig does the trick.

Failing that, anything meaty - 1/4 of an ox heart or liver is just the ticket.

They are also caught on meaty flavoured boilies or 22mm halibut pellets.

From what I have read recently, just bang a load of bait down Pellets/boilies and have a big hookbait.

size 2-4 hook braided hooklength and big halibut pellets or anything meaty fishy, 15lb line and the rods you have will be more than capable. good luck mate let us know how you get on Wink
