Have you ever fished down at Stanley ferry near Wakefield?

Woodchuckers Film Thingy Picture070

I have only been float fishing for silvers and Perch but have had a few follows from some monsters down near the marina!

Only for Perch and silvers! It's only a couple of miles from my house and because of the moorings no one has the rights to fish it! :D

Might be worth a bash, the biggest problem with thw wakefield stretches is that they get netted on a regular basis

It's good for me in the open season because if you park in the woodyard car park you have access to both the river and the canal without moving your gear too far! Wink

Pike tend to head for boat yards at this time of year so it would be worth getting the rod out

I may just do that! I suppose float fishing a dead bait at the entrance to the yard or wobbling one through the yard would do the trick!
