esp 25lb bristle filament what size hook ????

i was trying to make a stiff hinged rig and ive managed to make the boom section but when ive come to make the stiff pop up rig for it its going belly up im making a d rig but i cant pass my filament back through the end of the eye ive tried various makes of hooks in size 8 and just cant get the filament back frew to blob it.......i mite just bin the stuff and stick to simple rigs

try warming it and streching it a tad craig, make sure you have enough to play with....

danny's choddy hooks, size 8 or 10...

cut the end of the line to a point to go back through the eye but as said leave ya self plenty to work with then cut and blob

i tried cutting it to an angle but still no joy il grab some choddy hooks like das said and give them a try i wont let it beat me

Must admit,I tried exactly the same thing, with exactly the same bristlefilament, and with the same result, I could'nt for the life of me get the line to pass back through the hook, tried cutting it, pushing it thru with pliers, but , reckon the 15lb would do just as good a job,and have a much lower diameter

there the ones i use

size 6 or 4 choddy so it hanges like a big fooking claw

if your fishing pop-ups you can get away with a bigger hook as its hidden from view. at least a size 6 choddy for me. you need the out turned eye so your hook sits at a nice angle aswel!

cant believe no 1 has said this.. but use a sneel not.. for any type of d rig.. a sliding sneel to be precise.. i use gardener decepter hooks size 8.. before i found the sneel knot i couldnt ty a dig rig properly at all.. if u tie the sneel knot further down the shank leaving u plenty of room put the tag end through.. dont singe the end of it. until u have pulled the snell knot to the hook eye.. that works 4 me.. i would never comprimise my bottom end tackle and risk damageing my hooklength!!!! in bitter atempts to tie a rig.. that could cost me losing a monster fish...
