I've also spoken to the lad who caught that fish, It's 110% not a publicity stunt.
Experts have looked into the Image and there isn't any doubt of the Pike + Picture being real, it's the "57lb" being a little far fetched, could this be 40lb+? or 45lb?
However the Bailiff and Policing will mostly double, and I can quite assure you everything will be taken on board, and made sure all Fish are kept at safe surroundings.

Re: 57lb British Record Pike
ok lets think about this realistically............... i have never caught a 57lb pike but there are lads on here who have had some real big carp now it seems to me that the lad holding this fish is holding it with the utmost ease, for example not down on one knee to help support the weight namely 57lb like most of the shots i have seen of lads with big fish, i hate to be sceptical but 57lb of fish should be a little heavier than it looks in the picture????

how old is the lad in the photo? that pike weighs more than a sack of spuds and he looks like hes hardly holding any weight.

Re: 57lb British Record Pike
This is a great debate over on p&p, people are comparing it using photoshop cs,as it looks similar in many ways to the Gustafson pike.

i know where it is mate but i think thats what the owner has in mind .... you think abiout it you tell the world there is a 57lber in this yorkshire lake everyone will want to come fish it .... it in my opinion is a publicity stunt... to get more anglers on there ok look at it this way also if it is 57lb why has it not come out at 20, 30, 40lbs ??? surely some one would have had it at a lower weight and "Especially" on a 1.2acre pond

Re: 57lb British Record Pike
The lad had some guts to try pulling the wool over peoples eyes, both pictures are identical, the hands are placed the same, and even all markings are 110% the same.
....What a plonker....but dam he got some publicity from it.
