Re: Lures barbed or barbless
I bought a load of Mag Dawgs from America that are rigged in the same way as that Chris, the great thing about them being rigged like that is that the lure is usually ejected during the fight which is great because they dont get badly smashed up as standard dawgs do.

Re: Lures barbed or barbless
The allso make super deep trolling lures too when ya fire a extra 3oz(1oz+2oz) on the bottom hangers
And like ady says it deffo makes em last a bit longer , had a 23 skelp a standard dawg last year 1 fish and the lure was trashed until could get home and attack it with the soldering iron its been re-rigged with a external harness now :D

Re: Lures barbed or barbless
Mind standard 30lb deadbait wire works ok too it just dont last many fish is the reason i bunged some single strand stainless on.
Anything smaller than a standard dawg id prob drop the wire size too.
Another way is to make up hooks with dif lengths of wire on em and form a loop on the end , simply hook the loops over the attchment eye nip em into the dawg then clip ya trace on , carry a few spare in ya pocket incase any get naffed with fish and ya off and runnning.
