need some lures need to get out....

Just a quick one for the lure gang ... lol

As most of yo guys know i'm more a carp angler than a pred man but i do like to fish for all species from time to time, also as most may know i'm not getting out on the bank as much these days due to personal circumstances.

So some may know i used to do quite a bit of lure fishing myself but sold all my lures some time ago (don't know what i was thinking) so what i'm asking i suppose is.....

"What lures can anyone suggest get for canals, i know shad raps are a good one for the canals but can't really think of any other ones."

I'm just thinking seen as i'm not getting out much these days would be nice to get out onto the local canal and attempt to catch something at least and it doesn't break the bank balance either

salmos sliders are meant to be good and may be worth seeing if gaz (billy barbell) has any left in stock

I have most faith in my Daiwa DB Minnow.

Not been doing it long like but total confidence over my others, not blanked yet *touch wood*

at £6 it's cheaper than a rap too.

And try a husky jerk, quality canal lure

small savage rattle smolts are good, very cheap and the pike love em, can't fish em wrong straight retrieve will get you plenty of takes but twitch em back and they're deadly
as said salmo sliders are great if you've got a rod with the right action to fish em, fox micro runts too if you can find some ( before i do! )

mepps and rapalas are a must

5inch cannibal shads on 8g jig with stinger..... kill pike and perch in any water

flash vibration and they are relativly cheap

or cheaper still some shads curly and twin tailed grubs add a few jigs or big singles and away you go

Bloody hell John, dont tell me that after all these years of bad mouthing spinnerbaits you have actually seen the light
