quality stuff that tom. it reminds me of a time me n a mate was fishing for bits many moons ago. we'd been getting the odd fish but it was slow so my mate set up a rod for the pike. he baited it up n dropped it in the edge to show me how it all looked and a fish pounced out of nowhere and shot off with it. i was amazed by what i saw, that fish must have been sat there watching our net or something cos it hit the bait instantly

ive had this happen alot when i fish the canals/rivers with a wobbled spratt, the pike seem to take it just before you pull the bait out. heart stopping stuff when it happens.

yhe thay like sitting by netted fish ive had a jack about 5lbs attack my landing net with roach in and it wouldnt let go so i just picked it out the water still attached to the outside ov mi net and a fish

iv had this happened to me with a savagear 4play, only thing is i wasnt paying total attention as it was a slow day for catching and i was just pulling it out of water when it attacked it took me by suprise wich made me pull it straight out and miss the bite

It happens a lot with lures, the two best times to get a take on a lure are on your first and last twitch of a bait because Pike love the margins for ambush points.
