I do believe its 2 per outing from rivers/canals only, but don,t quote me on that....
I will have a search about just to find peace of mind for myself aswell...

its is a funny one isnt it? especially given all the attention about fish being taken for the table. it would be difficult to square a situation where someone was taking a jack pike or bream for deadbaiting and the chap next to him was doing exactly the same for the table???

Just come across this....

The byelaw states that a maximum of ten fish may be removed at any one time. That is of course for dead-baiting purposes, it's now completely illegal to take bait away and return for the purposes of live-baiting.

There will be club rules for each stretch of water about who allows what - my local club allows 2 per trip (trout or grayling) to be taken.

My advice would be to check with the water owners as the old excuse of "sorry, didn't know" really isn't a novel response and wont get you far! Wink
