I fished the river Saone in France when the cat fishing was good back in 2000 its all changed now Spain seems to be the place but its changing there as well. We used to fish for them in a different way no lob worms or leaches for us. We used to use a small carp or eels, For obvious reasons you couldn't just cast them out so every time you baited up you had to row it out we would then tether them off to a boy with some 4lb line this would then snap if a cat took it. You can’t comprehend playing a big fish in a river that tankers can go up and down. Also you have mussel beds that can cut you off. They were the days. The locals netted a lot of the areas we used to fish and now it’s ruined.

I haven’t go a clue how to post pictures but if you look at this link you will get an idea of how big the river is.
