Anglers fishing Grasmere are now able to hire a boat for the day from the boat landings which are about half a mile from the village centre on the back road over to Langdale.

The boat is available every day from 10.00am until 5.00pm at a cost of £30.00 per day.

Advance booking is essential through Rick Martin on 015394 35060.

Please note that WADAA membership or a day permit is required to fish.

Well, I emailed the Neil Birkinshaw who is one of the managers,but unfortunately got this reply:

I'm afraid our 'no camping' includes overnight bivvi's . It is a condition of our leases on Rydal and Grasmere so there is no way around it. This generally applies to most of the other pike waters in the area and I couldn't really suggest any venue where overnight fishing is permitted. Sorry I can't be more helpful. That scuppers that plan,but there's still no reason we cant just day fish,find somehwhere to stay at,and do it again the next day
Next things affordable accomodation.

You can night fish conistan, there is a campsite on the banks, I have seen people doing it. Scotland would be a better bet

any venues in mind

i waas sorry been out all weekend xmas shopping

plenty of easy access swims for those who take the kitchen sink

reasonable fish good doubles water with the outside chance of something bigger

you can night fish with a bivvy (no tents mind) on the bank so no campsite fees but no facilities either

We're used to roughing it on the bankside, would we all still require a permit to fish it then lads, or just our rod licence

well, Ive no set date in mind, so once we know a venue that people can get to easily enough,and are able to al get on the bankside without too many complications,I guess we'll sort a date suitable for everyone, be a shame to have a "social" and not get all the lads together for it.
Im out of a job in a week, so the issue of time and dates wont matter too much to me

just rod license remember though only sea deads are allowed no trout roach pollen etc

I fished it on the boat and its a stunning water with some serious depths

This is to prevent the risk of spreading infection to the fishery from other waters.
