im not getting out much at all at the moment and its driving me mad!!!. just when you think everywhere has thawed, it freezes again!

I've got a pike match on Trent on the 12th though. i won the last one with a tropical deadbait.

You should do fine on Blenheim Palace, like Ryan has said the place has done some good Pike in the past so there is always a chance. If you can get hold of a fish finder it will be a major advantage, set your rods up with inline floats and fish them flat on the deck along the drop offs or any other features you can find. Just make sure you have a good anchor hold because a moving boat can be a nightmare when float fishing. Wink

If I fished it I would hit as many spots as possible, if fish are feeding you will get takes with 5 mins of the baits hitting the water so spend no more than 30mins at each spot, I would also search as much of the water as possible with lures, not only is this a great way of catching Pike but it will also bring them to your deadbaits.

fishing lures in and around my deadbaits has proved successful for me in the last few weeks, had one rod out for around half an hour with no movement until i cast a bulldawg on top of it, started dipping on the retrieve and i thought i'd snagged it but it was a take, this is in 5 feet of water so i'm convinced the commotion from the lure was enough to wake the pike up enough to take

you also pick up the odd fish on the lures themselves even in the extreme cold

Can't give you any advice, but if your father decides he doesn't want to go I'll take his place, lol. Always wanted to try for the Tench on there, but Pike will do!!

I've fished Blenheim twice and caught a couple of pike each trip on lures. It has seen a lot of pressure after a big 30 was caught a few years back. I'd stay mobile as the fish seemed to come from anywhere although the bridge and dam end seemed very popular.

Also take some perch sized lures - there are some cracking perch in there!
