Yes they do pull and boy when you get anangry one on keep your figers off the line or it will cut straight through you .
We don't as a rule bring them onboard but now and again you always want a snap shot.
Rule 1 always take your time with tope as they have a nasty habit of throwing the hook when you think you got them ,but as you can see not this time .

Not trying to blow anyones trumpet but a friend of mine called Mark "quacker " Quirk who may or may not be known to some of the sea fishing anglers of this site ,has this last month caught and recorded a tope caught on one of our northern beaches which tipped the scales at just over the 67lb mark .I understand and might be informed differently that this is going to be not only an Isle of Man record ,but also a new British record .
