it would seem you have done your homework well with the db4 but i would suggest a t6 as they do glide well better than the db4 more akin to the cobbs and stalkers but with a little extra effort they really do go erratic

where are you ?

ye the t6 has a longer slimmer profile, i may have to look into them. i have the db5 and im not over keen i would usually go for the cobb or talker first, unless i felt the fish were wanting a deeper bait as the db gets down alot quicker.

p.s. nobody mention ace lures or noodle will get really excited Wink

think its 15 i know ive seven db4's four db5's 3 t6's not sure if ive a db6 or two without rooting or if they were donated onwards last year

he is a top bloke he iinitially helped me with the blog i ran for the region, then answered loads more questions and finally helped me out with some lures.

no idea if this will be a future 'moment' in history but i bought the 1st lure sold via his shop an acid pox hector king

hectors are good however i tend to get a lot more follows with them they are a very nice wide predictable glide bait, then throw a black for preference db4 and it gets hit the two do work well in conjunction lol

db4 are probably no certainly my faviroute lure by far they are quite versatile you can fish them with a classic glide a wobble get them dancing by fishing them in an erratic fashion amazing things the 5 inch versions are good but not quite as versatile as they tend to glide more than the4.

id say just buy one the newer models have screw eyes rather than my version which is through wired there is a little difference in them though not a great deal. if youd been closer id have said pop round and take a few to have a throw

shame, i would take you up on that. i'll have to give my db5 more time i think. i bought it at the same time as one of my stalkers and i would say the stalker is easier to fish, although this by no means makes it better, it had instant results "out of the box" so to speak.

im just lazy really, results breed confidence, and confidence is all in lure fishing. imo.

i wont dispute any of that, do you not find the tap glide tap glide baits get a load of follows though?

my mantas have and ive not used them a great deal as yet but my god do pike follow or have half hearted goes. something that is that little more uncertain of it where it will be in three or four moves seems to promote more definate takes for me

not that i dont throw lures with lazy wide glides the sweet shad 150 is one of the lures that sold me on lure fishing Wink

mantas get attention when ever they get wet, there such a easy lure to work, the only problem i find is that cos i bought black perch its much more effective when the suns out. thats why i want another louder one.

i love the way pike almost fall into step with the wide gliding lures though. just wish they'd all take it before i run out of water lol

You know me mate, I never miss a new Cobbs, perch is a great pattern on any lure, but it works very well on a Cobbs, well you know they like the taste of mine Crafty
