what time of year is best

i was thinking of going fishing for zander this year but was wondering what time of year is best

e.g summer
winter
autumn
spring

i am going to try gloucester park if not i might try a river if i can find one lol

first of all you have the close season for coarse fish (including pike) this is between March15th and 15th June inclusive. on some club water its closed for pike etc until October the pike season starts and the fish are in their best condition same with the Z'ds this runs till March the 15th.
