Re: just a quick one for the carp boys
designed by, Kenny Dorsett, the KD rig is ultra effective.
this presentation gets a magnificent hook hold ; whether it’s as the shot-on-the hair, snowman, or
muzza rig.
The hook is whipped on at such an aggressive
angle that the carp find it practically impossible to eject when sucked
in. Due to the way that the hair protrudes out the back of the hook’s
eye, you’re causing the hook point to become heavier, allowing it to
drop quicker into the bottom lip unlike many rigs out there.
To ensure that the presentation is at its best, you must use it in
conjunction with a slow-sinking hook bait. This can either be a
purpose-made, neutrally-balanced hook bait or a pop-up anchored by
placing a split shot on the hair.
the KD rig is best used with a curved hook pattern. As a result, go get
some Kurv’s and go catch some carp!

Kd rig better with softer material IMO than fluro... unless using it with a pop up
notice how the hair kicks off the shank early in the "whip"....

Re: just a quick one for the carp boys
right above i gave you the korda pitch statement that goes with anything new onto the market
yes its definately much better with softer link material
but to be perfectly honest i,ve used it and tried to do comparisons against other rigs that have done me proud in the past
don,t get me wrong i like the idea of the mechanics and hooking abilities of the rig
but in my opinion its hard to say whether it has actually ever has made a dramatic difference to my catch results and i,ve never been 100% convinced it ever will, for sure it works !!
but only time will tell by keep trying it in more different situations and tweeking it whether its exceptionally good

Re: just a quick one for the carp boys
when tying the knotless knot... whip around the hook shank twice.. then pull the hair out and continue whipping around the hook shank only for your fave amount of turns... .. more than 5 though....
important with the KD to have a slightly longer hair than you would normally.. you can add a shot to the hair between the hook and bait or drill out a little piece of your boilie and add it into the boilie.. it can prove to make a deadly critically balance set up
