Never give up!!
The moral of this post is as the title says Never give up. It is 50 years since I began fishing and this is my first 20 lb Pike. I long ago lost count of the nuimber of Pike I've caught, some were higher doubles but last year I caught this fine fish. Cant tell you how I felt. Sorry the image is cropped, I've tried adjusting the size but to no avail. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong. Cheers

Re: Never give up!!
Thank you very much for doing that. It looks much better. I too hope it doesn't take you 50 years, but I hope you enjoy all the years to come as much as I have.
Cheers Ken

Re: Never give up!!
20lb pike are still pretty rare fish unless you fish good rivers and troutwaters, I am still trying to catch my first 25lb+ pike and I have had 6 20lb+ fish which shows how hard it is

Re: Never give up!!
Its been a lean spell for me with 20lb pike Chris but dont forget that I have only been fishing for 5-6 years so I am pretty happy with the amount of 20lbers I have caught, this winter I will be targeting a water that will put me a few nice fish on the bank so watch this space Chris

It’s the same as carp fishing you first of all have to fish the water with them in, then have the time to put into that water. When I spoke to Mick brown about it a year or two ago he said he moved to where he lives now because of the fishing and that he can travel 30 min down the road in every direction and be on a peace of water that can possible offer you a 20lb fish.
Location location and time
But back on topic you’re never too old to stop learning and as I said to Dan when that fish turns up it’s more the sweeter.
