Has anyone seen any pictures of the reported 9lb 1oz Chub from the Trent?

Hi Ken

It was caught by a good mate of mine along with a 15lb 7oz barbel.

I believe it is the biggest chub ever caught from a river.

He has submitted his photos to the Angling Times so it will probably be in next week, but they are not brilliant self takes.

However, no one should doubt its authenticity - and he use ruebon heaton specimen dial scales - the best in the business!

Well done that man. And it is, to the best of my knowledge, the biggest from a river as you stated.

Yes thats a big river fish i know a 10lb one has been caught from a Derbyshire gravel pit and i think the old river record was from my old stomping grounds on the River Lee

The record is 9lb 5oz from a stillwater. There was a 10lb fish reported from the Wye last year but it was about as credible as the 50lb pike reported from Oulton pond last year HaHaHa
