San s Great
We went TWICE last year and hopefully will be going again twice this year

Can't fault the fishing
this is a good reason why

Bottom Lake

Top Lake

But here is the REAL reason

Whats in it gray i know she said one lake was exclusively carp is the other mixed coarse fish and do you reckon there is enough fishing around about for a seven day family holiday ?? Also any advice on the ferry/train would be good. Cheers

Right
Twin Lakes is a 6-7 hours drive non stop from either Ferry or Train
ferry takes around 2 1/2 hours total
Train take around 3/4 hour total but is dearer

that's from correct arrival time at the terminal to hitting the French roads proper on the other side the quickest route takes you around the South side of Paris from the Autoroutes A26 A1 and on to the A10 to Mirambeau which is 10 minutes from the campsite Can do a map if you want

tolls are not too expensive even with a caravan on

as for family if you look at this album it shows some of the places withing a hour and a half's drive away as well as the markets in Montendre (just a mile away) especially in the summer they have an evening food market where you can get a good meal for 10 AND the town council run the bar lol!
