MICHEAL EMERY GETS NEW ISLAND RECORD CUCKOO WRASSE.

This was the day that Micheal took back the cuckoo wrasse island record that mark Kremmer took off him two years ago.Myself and micheal set out this morning on a calig and ling hunt .the calig were not found but the ling were ,the smallest was about 3.5lb with the heaviest of 8lb taken by Micheal and so claiming his £1 back off yours truely. .The day was a good day for fishing although it was a little lumpy the variety of fishing was excelent,with all manor of fish caught from mackie and herring rightup to spur dog and tope .

With us being out * miles the ground produced good sized fish . I caught a tub gurnard of over 3lb only to be outdone by Micheal who pulled in a jockey of 5lb .3.625ozs ,a specimen winner,not to mention the double of a calig with the record breaking cuckoo wrasse of 1lb.8.5ozs .Weldone to skip Emmo for a great day for him ,i lost a £1 ,but i am even for the year so far ,i did however loose three good rod benders with the line giving way and so loosing the hook only .

So a good day with the sun shining we mananaged to get the species total into double figures and had good fun all the way with the leak being taken out of each other ,fish taken on the day were ,mackie ,herring ,tope ,spur dog,grey,red and tub gurnards ,ling,calig and the record breaking cukoo wrasse .

that's a very nice size one got any picks as i think there one of the most stunning sea fish we have.

Yes ,we get some great colours out of the cuckoo's around the island ,i will post some more when we are next out .

Well done that man....

Micheal and i are both very hard core fishermen to coin a phrase but we do enjoy our fishing and going out when maybe we should not may not be the most sensible we are always aware of the danger ,but he has a good boat and our sea legs are strong and on this occation it paid off very well for him .
