Best Venues for pike in west yorkshire?

Hi Guys new around here, and new to pike angling.

As the title says what would you guys say the Best Venues for pike are in west Yorkshire? Either Day ticket of free?

Looking for some good places to make a start!

hi dan, what expereance do you have pike fishing
if not much mate then you need taking under the wing with someone who can teach you the correct way of handling unhooking and so on, anyone new to this great creature needs to be shown how pike fishing goes,

has for venues if you already know about piking then theres plenty of local ish waters and clubs to you.....

And rivers

ive fished some many years back ady, but they,ve never really being on my to do list for my pike fishing, although i would,nt mind a session for them on one....... so long as theres no walking miles on one......

Hey man i haven't done much to be honest, I did a bit of spinning a couple of years back on the Calder caught a couple of jacks but I was with a guy who helped me unhook them and that as I was young and clueless lol! Still clueless to be honest but I've been reading a lot about pike handling and unhooking as if and when I catch one I want to make sure I take good care of it and don't cause it any harm! The things is the guy I went with has now moved away, but I still want to get in to it! :/

in my opinion mate, hands on is the best way of getting to know pike fishing, keep your eyes peeled on the forum, they will be one or two out piking, just ask the question if you could join in, and i,m sure that you will be welcomed to been shown how it should be done with out hurting yourself or the fish...... not quite sure if i,m out this weekend but your more than welcome to join me if i am, and its not many miles from where you live....

Thanks for the offer man, I may well take you up on that sometime, but unfortunately this weekend i have a Grappling Tournament so I wont be fishing :/

If you have not done a lot of pike fishing I 100% recommend you to go a few times with the lads for you and the fish. There top of the food chain but it does not take a lot to kill one and I can assure the teeth cut through flesh quite well.

Nics down for the weekend, so that rules out any piscatorial action, but on the plus side, I'll get some other action............................Christmas bloody shopping, norwich I do believe, wilsons shop here I come

i was talking to roger at 3 lakes and he said a bloke was washing his hands in the lake (with a ring on his finger) and a pike grabbed his hand! The wound caused a lot of flesh to be removed from his finger. ( i bet in a couple of days time, the story says a bloke had 2 fingers bitten off I must admit though i get a little paranoid when my dogs are drinking lakeside at venues where i know there are pike in.

that would,nt supprise me at all, they were trying to get at my live baits in the margins all the time....

Gaz I know of a very similar story where the bailiff was unblocking an over flow and the pike went for his watch and chewed his wrist up. As for the dog my one is always at the waters edge and he is perfect 20lb pike bait.
