Firstly, what a crap picture, secondly,is that a young lad? and thirdly, holy crap thats a huge fish
Dont know exactly how you go about submitting a record fish, but you'd think there'd need to be proper edujication

Re: 57lb British Record Pike
It does look like a very big Pike for sure. But a picture that bad, leaves a lot of doubt.

Its a 17year old lad that caught it froma local pond (1.2acres) something just does not ring true to me, I hate being such a cynic but I think photoshop has been used

Re: 57lb British Record Pike
i,m not expert but it could be a ghosted picture where one is layed over a negative then scan , the blurring can be a way of covering up the errors so the the scrutineers can,t say its fake

Re: 57lb British Record Pike
I just put it side by side with the Lothar Louis pike, the size and proportions look similar (Im not saying its the same fish), but size wise its very similar. But like you said, the technology available today, theres no limit to what can be done with the likes of photoshop.
If its real, then hats off to the lad, but if this gets accepted as a true british record, then I'll eat my shoe.

Re: 57lb British Record Pike
I would love it to be true but a 1.2acre water that gets pike fished on a regular basis (Not by me) and the fish has never come out before, it just does not make sence.
