Re: Catfish Rig's
If it STINKS they will eat it, the higher in protein the better. I recon it would be harder makeing a list of what a catfish won't eat. I've cought catfish (vundu and sharptooth) on soap in africa, and watched them eating the contents of the houseboat toilet when it's emptyed into the lake.

That Siberian is mind blowing, (is it a Houso?, looks like one it's that big  ) you are on SOME water fella are you sure you live in england? That has to be the biggest S/S in the country or there abouts, the cat is nice but compaired to the sturg it realy is average.

Re: Catfish Rig's
Sorry for the delay been having problems with AOL only just got back on .....Tim's lake (Witch Lake) has some right monsters in, these two fish aint the biggest by any means..... it's done a 110lb catfish a few weeks back and the Sturgeon go to 80lb + i kid you not and the fish really battle hard also has some big carp and pike .........not easy and don't always get action but when you do, they are big and something different from your "normal" fishery, its very well run lake and the fishes welfare is parramount, big mats and nets needed......... Tim is fair with anybody that fishes there, unless you do stupid things against his rules then you will be booted off..........i like that cause you know where you stand...... anybody want contact number to fish just pm me...

Re: Catfish Rig's
truely an awesome pair of fish top angling to you .
if my memory serves me right witch lake is around my neck of the woods at edited due to our eastern european fish thieves and is £35 a day and contains big cats, carp ,sturgeon, and pike
i think did i read there was some squit over the sturgeon after some one reported a capture and i believe he got banned for i think using trebles .
The EA were meant to be getting involved i think and they were going to remove the sturgeon and if they could not they would be destroyed .
i,m assuming as you have just visited the place this is no longer going to go ahead about the sturgeon ??
regards
kevin

Re: Catfish Rig's
They do hibernate in winter. Spring is the time to start thinking about planning your first catfish trip of the year. Its also the best time to take advantage of them going on a good feeding spell. I have found the hotter the weather the better the chances of catching a catfish. Other than that get on a plane and head to Spain

All depends on what you’re after. If tour fishing for carp and cats 18mm. if you want just cats the biggest you can get. Small fish peck at them and break them down a cat of about 15lb will eat a hook with 2 x 22mm on without even thinking about it. But I think these are better when targeting cats over the standard pellet.

once you open them they have a shelf life as there so full of oil you will find they will break down very quick thats why i aways take fresh ones when catfishing
