Greedy girl
Just found these couple of pics of a rather greedy pike, which was found dead in a pond, the guy managed to get her out, and to his amazement, she appeared to have choked to death on another pike:

Re: Greedy girl
Its amazing the size of prey a pike will go for, I have caught 5-7 pound fish take a 22" grub tail in one mouth full while trolling the rivers

Re: Greedy girl
Their unpredictability on lures is amazing, you just never know what'll turn em on.
Cold take the tiniest little mep, or the fattest water slapper in your tackle box, While im on, how do you store and carry your biggest lures woody? finding a proper tackle box for all my salmo's is a tad tricky.

Re: Greedy girl
Savage make a jerkbait bag that you can stand your lures in and I think there about £30, money well spent but you dont want to carry it too far I last weighed mine at 32lb when full

Like a good boy scout "be prepared" Did you look at the pike link I put up, its got loads of waters around the midlands. I browsing it now, The A1 pits look tempting. But then again, we've easy access and closeness to the king of pike waters "the lakes" woo woo.

Re: Greedy girl
you're asking the wrong angler Nixon ......... slippy's your woman for the best way to transport those lures ....... woodchucker carts 30lb + of lures around with him on the bank , the slipster on the other hand carrys similar numbers of lures but without the heavy bag . ( carrier bag full of hook guarded lures ) = lightest possible bag , cost Fook all as opposed to £30
Now as we all know slippy is an old lady ( no offence meant ) and woodchucker ....... well the clue is there in the name
let's just say spunky is a happy young thing
woodchucker is fast approaching the prime of his life and can still carry that weight .
you'd be best advised to follow slippy's method if only because it's easier on the back , which comes in for enough stress just casting
the bloody lures
simply pm slippy and he will tell you at which stop you ought to get off

Re: Greedy girl
Well, thanks for that top piece of advice there
Ill be sure to nip down to Aldi and grab a "tackle bag".
Just that I normally carry a wychwood lugger, but it really needs straps like a rucksack, cos I end up walking lop-sided.

Re: Greedy girl
That looks like my ultralite lure bag
But Sean is right, I actually use an empty Wychwood Lugger bag and put a couple of jerkbaits, a spinner bait, fox replicant, Super Shad Rap, bulldawg and a copper spoon. If I cant catch on that lot then the fish are not feeding or not there

Re: Greedy girl
couple of buckets a drill and some epoxy

yours for a fiver (or less(to make that is not buy of me))
close up of the double bucket two buckets were needed as the 99P tescos bucket was too shallow for some of the lures so i cut the bottomout and glued a white bucket to it

asda/b&q stanley box small size takes up to six inch baits larger one will just about anything £10-18 respectivley

what the boxes on the smaller one are like

Re: Greedy girl
Most my lures are in boxes as in the last photo, but, my huge jerkbaits just wont fit anywhere, so I may just end up getting treble hook covers and maybe carry them loose in my lugger bag, this will reduce the weight as I wont need the boxes to drag around.
Re: Greedy girl
You can get those little boxes at the pound shop. Just empty all the screws and nails out and your away!

Life is what you make it, so it's your own fault!
Re: Greedy girl
Thas actually a good idea, my mates got a large (steady now) screw box, with a transparant lid, and its large enough for big lures. hmmmm hmmmm. wonder when he goes out?

Re: Greedy girl
I used to buy them by the bag full and sell them on eBay! I had sh!t loads of screws in the shed!

They are great for the little ones and you can cut out the separators for bigger lures!
