Its by far more sensative than mono.

It has no stretch so setting the hooks is never an issue.

It generally floats which makes it great for float fishing.

If you get snagged up you can straighten the hooks and get your end tackel back which is always a good thing.

Do I have to go on Cool Smoking

BRAID WINS EVERY TIME FOR PIKE FISHING

have this spool sitting here for you Innocent Whistle

For those who've surface lure fished with braided line, even the slightest twitch of the rod tip is enough to impart movement,so that should give you some idea of how little you actually need to strike.
I always simply wind down relatively hard, and just lift into the fish, hopefully reducing hook pulls and damage to the fish.

I did something that sounds not too dissimilar on the Lancaster canal, was casting inbetween the boats towards the far wall, when I gave a bit too much beef, and landed perfectly onto the wall, a loud crack was heard, retieved, and has successfully cracked my fatso clean in half.... clown

If your ever fishing the big lochs up here be wary of power cables too quite a few times now on 3 seperate waters i or my boat partner have encountered cables.
Bit scarey at the time when a 5/0 eagle claw is embedded past the barb :)
