My 1st Match Venue
hello all,
well where to start
what a fantastic time i had.
weather was over cast, water calm, the people i met on the other teams were mint with top banter.
i fished individual instead of team, but havent a scoobies how the points system works??
i actually thought i was goin to flap but we had bags of time to set up.
no sooner the "All in" was called i bagged my first Rudd...so i was over the moon & relieved i didn't Blank. 5 mins in rain and more rain.
one thing i must say there was some ammount of knowledge and experience there, and to be homest it showed, i managed 400g
with a final Roach. The venue organiser was bagging Carp like no tomorrow.
No matter how i tried i just couldn't secure a Carp, defo no joy on sweetcorn.
so here is my set up.
AS TODD SUGGESTED-
"hi mate this is what i would do to the rite of you 5 meters out throw two hand fulls of hemp hand full off corn and 3 hand full of micros and leave for and hour
to the left of you throw micro out half hand full and 5/8 maggots and keep spraying maggots over top mate
straight out make 10 casts with feeder leave for 2 min pull back in hit the same spot and soon you will have a good bed of bait
remember do not ignore lily's and read beds that is were they live "
quiiver tip,6LB line, red maggot sz 16 straight through on the line, feed n mixed bronze/red maggot method feeder- bagged the two fish on this method.
moved onto waggler 4LB line size 18 straight through on the line. sweercorn was no good.tried red, bronze and mixed.
Guess when the rain stopped a few minutes b4 "ALL OUT"
me mate Dave said my fishing was on the ball but the big fish were getting cought on pellet and Paste.
out of our team of 5 2 blanked and i managed to beat the team captain Col
DOGSNOT,new forum member)giving me 2nd place ova the moon.
one bloke was
just as he was getting his keep net in for way in...PLADOOOOSHHHHH new mobile phone
straight in the drink. i really felt for him as he was a nice fella and really passionate about his day out fishing.
al have to look up on all these baits and one day i may land a belta.
please can you's give advice tips etc,as well as the usual p'taking
thanks for reading all.
