redundancy, employment law

Post by noodle on Thu Jun 05, 2008 5:51 pm

would any of you be well up on this?

we have just been told we are facing redundancies but the company would prefer relocating as many of us as possible at other sites.

My main question as im looking through various websites over this, the word reasonable crops up quite a lot. Now would a pay cut be considered satisfactory reason to turn down an offer of redeployment within the company or would my terms and conditions be considered as untouchable at any new site i may be offered?

Sorry to hear about that John, especially with your better half exspecting as well. I was made redundent 3 week before xmas (and the day before I went to Ireland fishing) two years ago, even though I trippled there turnover inside of two years. pissed off

It was a hard time for me and it forced me to sell my most prized of items...my boat pissed off along with my competion shotgun pissed off

But life goes on and the after looking for the right job to come along I went to Renault, and although its hard work I enjoy life a lot better now, although I think it will take at least another 12 months before I am able to enjoy life to the full again.

I would get yourself down to the citizens advice John, they helped me out with bills and redundencey money and they know all the terms of employment.

Good luck with it all John Wink
