Re: I'd like to know
Thats a top looking bivvy Badger, and even looks quite simple to erect, no flimsy little carbon fibre poles to worry about snapping.
And as for noodles post, what bag was I meant to look for?
Aah, buffalo systems. got it.

Re: I'd like to know
I dont think it exists,
you need a summer bivvy that keeps out the mozzys (and the ants if you have ever been unlucky enough to set up on a red ant nest!) so that means net and built in ground sheet
and a winter one that will stand the harsher weather - so pram hood design and over wrap
and I need one that keeps all my stuff contained - as I tend to spread it all over the place!

Re: I'd like to know
Interesting thread lads, I nearly died at East Ardsley a couple of years ago on the 23rd of December, it was the first real frost of the year and it hit us hard and just goes to show how important keeping warm and dry are when your fishing.
We set up at 2 in the afternoon with my mates single skin with a seperate ground sheet (Mistake 1) I had taken a normal sleeping bag but plenty of clothes, my mate had the wrlds thinnest sleeping bag (Mistake 2) as the night drew in we started to get cold and got all our clothes on (Mistake 3) and gt into our sleeping bags, we had already drank our flaskes as we had no stove (Mistake 4) I had a few runs in the night which ment geting wet and then jumping back into the sleeping bag, my mate looked fecking cold shaking in his sleeping bag so I stayed awake most of the night as I was scared we may not wake up
we packed up early and went home to get warm, I looked at the weather when I got home and it had hit -4 during the night, we were lucky to survive
I now have a twin skin bivvy only a cheapo but its easy to put up and take down and is like a big top inside
I also have a 5 seasons sleeping bag which is really warm

tackle tart wrote:well in my opinion i think the best bivvy on the market is the trakker armadillo
but i must say that the nash double top professional with third winter skin £240 is a vey good bargain indeed and is very rigid and quick to erect i have one myself and cannot fault it at all .
as for sleeping bags i have the FOX 5 season sleeping bag and i,ve never got cold in it yet but again the trakker peachskin big Z ( £99 ) or the armotexx 5 season ( £ 139 ) are very good too
