but your right about one thing were the best trained soldiers in the world we don't have all the gadgets as some army's no names mentioned (cough states cough) but we make the best of what we actually have and use it effectively !

It's been a few years since I done martial arts,I use to study shoa-lin stlye for a bit...well when I say a bit I started at the age of 13 and packed it up at 32 when I ended my career as a doorman,I use to love it,I became an instructor at 20 and at 23 when I started my security career I joined the luminar leisure comittee and became a trainer for the internal training course teaching holds and restraints,cost me a fortune over the years but I have also had some experiences,I have done close protection for the boy band Five at their wembley concert,status quo when they was part of the rock festival in guernsey many yrs ago and also done a few weeks close protection for Dave courtenay,I also had quite a few tournaments in my time too...546 to be exact unfortunately I also got disqualified 238 times for illegal contact but all in all I had alot of fun in my day,now I choose to sit bankside and be more relaxed without having to look over my shoulder every 5 minutes,its what becomes of having a family now because I dont think its fair on them living with the threats I lived with so caved it all in for my missus and kids and I am also running out of space for new scars :)

i fight just now on the bbsi uk circuit held at doncaster (kick boxing) im currently ranked fourth in uk in my grade 14th to 7th kiu, i have just made the weapons demo team for my club www.emwbba.co.uk and im training with master Paul Pearson to be an MMA Instructor im into the first six months of the grappling techniques just now got another 6 months of this then 12 months of thai boxing and 12 months of penkak silat. Then my transformation to the dark side will be complete Dont you miss fighting competitions i love it.

I do miss fighting a bit,I spar now and again with a friend of mine who is also a highly ranked kickboxer "Gareth eke" but mainly try and get some knowledge into my daughters for a little self defence because in this day and age its very much needed,I also hate to admit it but I feel my fighting days are over now,believe me it's taken its toll on my body with face full of scars,split knuckles not to mention the stabbing I recieved inthe neck when I worked the doors of a pub in brixton a few yrs back.

I have seen some of gareths fights on you tube, we have robbie hughes current world champion training two of our kick boxers who both won british titles last year, he is an awesome fighter for a young lad and he is training to be a dentist !!!!

I must admit I do miss the competition fighting but after spraining my spine in 5 places in a car accident, I lost all confidance and started to turn my back during sparing which ended it for me...shame really

I can honestly say that since the day I stopped training I have used it only once while walking home from a girlfriends one night and a piss head had a swing at me which I blocked and then swept his knee which seem to have the desired effect
