Handle every stressful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or hump it,
Pi$$ on it then walk away

they are great wherever you get pestered by minnows or fingerlings rubber hookbait and real freebies , have watched stickysteve use rubber caster to great effect ..... i've tried the rubber bread on my first carping outing .....got the wily buggers eating freebie bread but they all veered away from the rubber stuff at the last minute .....a presentation problem ( weight of hook , need counterbalancing ??? ) Had same problem with dog biscuits real and rubber clown

like sean says rubber casters work really well, you can miss bites and still fish on without fear of the caster been gone as would be the case with real casters..rubber popup corn is good when fishing silty or weedy bottomed ponds for tench
