The Biggest Fish Ever since 1986?

On September 15th. last, Tony Murtagh from Co. Dublin landed & released a fish estimated at approx. 25lb. weight.

It was quickly released without even a picture being taken as they had no camera & no weigh net!

It measured 96cm (38\") ...

I am a student filmmaker living in London and I am making a 90 second film about two fishermen. I am looking for real fishermen to star in this film. I am thinking of filming on the Thames near Hampton Court but any other suggestion of nice places near London are more than welcome. The two fishermen don't need any acting experience as there will only be a couple of lines or maybe none at all. If anyone is interested I am thinking of filming for one day either on 7th, 8th, 14th or 15th of November. ...

This is a great rig if you’re fishing water for the first time and you don’t know what the bottom of the lake is like.

Is also great for fishing silty lakes ,then loosing weights in clips will happen ,you need to think about how to get past the silt problem or even the weed problem. This rig leaves the hook length free to float up the line and rest on top of soft silt /weeds etc.

By moving the helicopter section further up the lead core you create a rig where the lead ...

From Angling Times

At a time when more licences are being sold than ever, figures obtained from the Environment Agency show that the nation’s fishermen are cleaning up their act.

Improved bailiffing policies and awareness of regional ‘hotspots’ favoured by illegal anglers have been cited by the Agency as being central to the lower evasion rates, with all regions of the country showing fewer offenders, apart from the Thames area, which continues ...

The nation’s tackle shops could soon be selling live fish for use in predator fishing, if bold proposals from within the sport get the go-ahead.

One of angling’s most controversial topics, livebaiting, was thrust back into the limelight last week, after 80 per cent of Angling Times readers said the new byelaw consultation currently before Government should prohibit the removal of any fish from the nation’s rivers.

It had a 6ft long body, with a tail of the same length, and is estimated to weigh around 440lb.

Dave Jarvis, from Cornwall Wildlife Trust Marine Strandings Network, has formally identified the shark that was found on Wednesday.
