Maver powerlight bagging float feeder rod
OK here goes,
On opening the rod bag I was immediately impressed
at the quality and finish to the rod. All the tips and top sections have their own sleeve within the bag as you would expect.

I fit it together in all combinations and it looks the dogs doo-dah's.
I thought I would start of with the smallest feeder tip and work my way up.
I was not disappointed by what I found, all three tips supplied are good quality and quite responsive even to the lightest bite of the small Roach that can be found in large numbers at my local pond. After a couple of hours and some good sized Roach, I decided to change over to the match top section and give it a go with my puddle chuckers and loaded wagglers!
Again I was impressed at the way it fired out the waggler. On connection with a 4lb Tench I found the way that my new rod handled it was quit good, I was able to control the fish with ease without the rod locking up at all :) .
I then switched to my feeder float to try out the rods ability to cast an heavier load. Again no problems. I even managed to bag myself a good size Carp (for this pond
). Weighing in at 6lb it gave me a good fight but again all was handled nicely by this impressive piece of kit!
It is light and responsive as you would expect from a top manufacturer!
All in all I am very happy with this rod and would recommend it to anyone wanting a good all-round rod for commercial fisheries.
I now look forward to giving it a real workout

Re: Maver powerlight bagging float feeder rod
And where did you buy it from??Im interested in one of those
Re: Maver powerlight bagging float feeder rod
I bought it on ebay but all the Maver outlets will have it! It's not cheap but is coming down in price. I bought it for around £100 but it's well worth it. The quallity is very high and it's very responsive. I was casting puddle chuckers over 40 yds easy!

Not bad for the price. Nidge doesn't like the seller too much but I've had loads from him with no problems!
That's where my bivvy and alarms came from!

Re: Maver powerlight bagging float feeder rod
He's handy as its literally 10 minutes away, but I've been reading his feedback,which...aint exactly brilliant to say the least, but the recent reports seem pretty good.
The rod looks very similar to the one you have, could it be an updated model? or a lower model, with similar features do you think? I know theres the obvious price difference, but for 40quid could I go wrong.

Re: Maver powerlight bagging float feeder rod
My rod is a higher model (Tart!) It's designed for commercials and had a heavy float top section that can cope with most Carp and a feeder top section meaning you only need the one rod for both uses! It's one of those "all rounders" you read about but is actually a very good rod! I have a feeder rod and a float rod besides but hardly use them as with this one I only need to carry the one rod. It's also handy for those long walks to the river too!

Re: Maver powerlight bagging float feeder rod
I dunno why,but I'm really keen to give it a go. From what I keep reading, its a highly effective method of catching many species, but as per normal, the sheer amount of rods, that probably all do the same thing becomes rather baffling. I hate choosing a rod for its looks rather that what its actually capable of doing. But looking on here, they have all the maver rods,at lower prices than ebay for once, not sure as yet of the delivery costs, but I may make an enquiry.
