Team Yanbbrox goes tench fishing, again :-)

Last one, I'm off doing other things tomorrow. Next week I think I'll try something different

Same water, a peg I'm used to fishing and a 0530 start, here are the results:

I had two quite early on, one female and one male about 3lbs, I also lost two others, I put this down to a slight hangover ;-):




Then this happened and at times like this you really wonder why we all sit out there in these conditions, you can see the float if you look carefully:


Then it stopped and I had these two, both over 4lb.



Then just after the magical 1500 mark where things alway switch on there the float buried under(strange as I was fishing the lift?) anyway straight away I thought, well I didn't have time to think it made a beeline for the pads as they all do but this was different I had full side strain on for a good couple of minutes trying to get it out, as soon as it was out in made a huge run across the lake. All week I've been joking with the wife that the next one will be a double and I really thought this could have been it(or a carp), anyway after a good 15 minute fight I saw it and it was only about the 4lb mark but clearly was a very angry tench, just as it was going over the lip of the net it came off I would have loved to weigh it to see exactly what it was but it looked no bigger than 4lbs.

Knowing I had to be home for 1600 I thought one last cast and a then I'll call it a day, expecting nothing more after the previous fight. 30 seconds later the biggest one of the day just under 5lbs and I literally just reeled it in, hardly any fight at all.


Sorry for all the in net pictures, I was on my own today and forgot the tripod. The maggots are for the robins that are nesting nearby, you really need to take them or they go after the pellets instead, the maggots keep them busy

The wife fancies a few hours on her favorite water tomorrow, so it looks like I'm going fishing after all, don't expect much, the water is tiny and the fish are as well
