pilsworth fisheries nr bury

Post by joel on Mon Jun 29, 2009 6:41 pm

did my 1st overnighter there on saturday, only managed a bream but my pal damo had an 18.4 & scotty lost 2 cause his tackles crap & his reels are fred flintstones cast offs...now pilsworth is very popular due to it's location, size & cause it has 2 35+ & 20 20+ carp plus many teens...also has a bonus(for me) some big pike. Now the lodge was packed & some very good anglers where on the pegs, unfortunately so where loads of chavs, pikies, polaks & teenagers. This is my 1st experience of big commercials & i hope not all are run like this place.I spoke to quite a few of the hardcore carpers & they where all saying enough was enough & time to look elsewhere.I think it's a shame that the owner has become so blinded by profit,I mean in the next pegs to me where a ugly couple who got so drunk they ended up falling about & partying till 4am,in the morning some other guy fell out their bivvy & threw up all over our exit path.Within 100 yards of my peg where 1 pitbull x,2 rotties,2 staffies & a collie,Now i have a large staffie x & in the past she's been fishing with me,but to way out the way places, not popular commercials.Dog crap & litter where a problem to....what a shame for this once great venue. It needs eric the owner to ask all anglers to produce rod licences on application of the ticket, get rid of some pegs & up the price from 18 to 25 pounds for 3 rods, install toilets & no under 18's without supervision.Without these measures pilsworth will be totally ruined.

thats so sad to hear joel, but like you say money comes first with some owners, i,m sure the next outing you stay out at will compensate for the let down you felt, some people just dont have the respect for the fish or the surroundings or other anglers that are there for them to make the most of.... Shooting 2
