CARP ROD PODS
rod pods are now nearly use by most of todays carp anglers but this was not all ways the case as we used to use single bank stick for each of our rods as really all they use to do was to rest the rod on with a piece of tin foil hanging off the line for bite indication ,but as technology progressed we started to use electronic bite indicators like the heron and optonics in the early days and now most are delkims or fox alarms .
we even started to do away with the old piece of tin foil and some were now using the advanced washing up liquid bottle top
.and the early tackle tarts even had isotopes in the end
then came the monkey climbers to replace the bobbins and then there were swinger that connected directly under your alarm .and then came the buzzer bars that use to on a single bank stick to take to rods this made the set up a bit unstable and this is when the pod came about .
now you can still use the single bank stick set up if you like and in some cases this is still used by some i use it myself when i have space or i want the rods pointing directly at my bait or i need to get around or over a near bank obstruction .
but most of the time a pod is my preferred option , it also save a lot of hassle as well especially when fishing on very hard ground and banging in bank stick was ni on impossible with out the use of a hammer .(oh i can remember them days )
so what makes a good pod well i firstly you want a pod that is very stable and rigid so it won,t move or wobble about , also it wants to be as light as possible as you will be carrying in your holdall some times long distances .
it also want to be easily adjustable .
i personally use the solar globe trotter pod this give me every thing i need from a pod super stability, great adjustment, easy to set up and its stainless ( oh yes i must have my bling
) only down side is that it a bit heavy

there are many company on the market doing some good rod pods now like Solar ,Fox, Nash these ones seem to be the most popular may be as they do a good range of pods at various prices to suit most anglers need ,but there are other to .

i always fished a fly rod and that was it to see a set up like that makes me wonder what the hell you would do if you got three runs all at once.
