ok the rear drag is easy enough to get off but it will only take a very thin lube which probably wont be much use

for the side plate start with removing the baitrunner switch the screw is on the opposite side to the sideplate youll need to remove

once youve done that whip the side plate off you will need to wiggle it a bit as it sits inside the rotor housing you can take that off but its not needed
it will look like this

a quick shot of where the crap grease shimano use tends to collect being no use
its the white stuff at the end of the wire at the bottom of the reel housing

pop a bit of grease under the main gear and around the bearing that sits on the gear in the casing (what your handle goes through) you can see the grease as the black suff at the bottom right and left of the gear.
other than that use a light lube the ptfe or teflon stuff on the baitrunner mechanism at the rear of the reel
the big silver plate if ou look you can see the spring i was on about

ahh just asked where these had gone
and for the 1st point by dan the old grease just leave it it generally sits at the bottom of the reel out of the way or if its the harder compound they use the grease you add will soften it up remember you dont need loads just a couple of pea sized blobs will do
its not daunting i did that in between eating a pizza faffing around with the digi cam (ended up using the mobile as the batterys were dead)
nothing should fly off if it does it was faulty already (get out of jail comment or what) the only problem you may face if you keep it as basic as i have is the spring on the baitrunner is quite weak and if any of you have baitrunners that dont reengage automatically thats the bit that needs replacing
