Advice needed.
I don't have a lot of money to spend on bait, so what can you recommend for filling my pva bags that is cheap and cheerful.
Re: Advice needed.
well you don,t need to spend loads of money on bait and a trip down to your local super market can find you with an array of different but effective baits like the following although not all for the pva but gives you an idea of some top baits from a cost effective source and there are many more that i,ve not listed
cat food ( a match men favourite )
sweet corn ( again tried and trusted but can be colour for good effect
bread ( just and all time bait )
peparami ( brilliant stuff )
sausage meat ( good for paste baits )
liver (bit messy but fantastic in ground bait once liquidised )
cous cous ( good in particles and takes on flavours and colour very well )
dog biscuits ( an all time favourite for floater fishing )
luncheon meat (plain but great pan fried with spices )
shiphams pastes spreads ( great for paste baits )
there is other stuff you can pick up and use as additive like powered spices ,liquid food flavour/clourings, other great stuff such as custard power or semilina to bind up sausage meat / catfood ect ect , to use in paste mixes also oxo cubes and marmite can be used to great effect such as a dip or in paste mixes again .
even cereals like sugar puff will make a great cheap pop up these are only
a few but i walk round with the missus and see loads of great stuff i can use with out costing me a packet
we all know the gardens is a great larder for baits to
also your local chemist can offer you some great items such as cod liver oil /capsules garlic oil capsules ,and primrose evening oil capsule probably some of the best and they don,t cost the earth and can easerly be put in your ground bait or even place a couple in your pva bags for that added attraction and i,ve even used them under my hook bait on the hair
another source for cheap bait is your local corn store here you can get bulk item to use in your pva bags such as
groats
flake maize
barley
wheat
chic peas
maize
hemp
beans and other pulses
and many many more but you will have to prep them yourself which can again be done very easerly and cheaply too
no doubt other will give you some great ideas for baits to but as i said you don,t need to spend hundreds of pounds
also i use my local health food shop for things like oils/spices and other exotic items
i hope this gets you thinking
regards

Re: Advice needed.
when buying any damp bait make sure there PVA friendly
sweetcorn is shit in PVA but if you mask in in pineapple flavor it traps the the moisture which will ruin your PVA
