Solar Tackle New Line Biter:

Solar Tackle New Line Biter:

So what is a 'line biter' precisely? The small float is clipped onto the mainline in front of the rod tip and allowed to slide down until it sits on the water's surface. This is achieved very easily by pushing the weight in the base up to the main body, in practice it can be done with one hand. If you are using your rods 'beach caster style' the line biter is still active even if it is not in contact with the water. Obviously it is very visual, and due to the materials and balancing is virtually weightless on water, so it does not interfere with very sensitive bite indication or slack line set-ups.
You will be amazed at the level of pre indication to a take you get when utilising the 'line biter' and it was amazing that it showed when fish were present in the swim, when otherwise you would have thought otherwise! The tell tale signs were little waves emanating from the bob, when sat on the water's surface, and quite often this happened a dozen or so times before a take occurred, so it does give you forewarning as to whether the fish are also getting away with it. A gizmo which will add a lot of fish to your tally, electrifyingly simple to use, but as so often the case a piece of bite indicator brilliance from the 'Solar Man'. Should be out now in the shops, if you have problems visit their website www.solartackle.co.uk they cost a mere £4.99 and deserve a full 5* vote!

Sounds very interesting, i think i would like to see this in action as i'm not entirely sure how this would help my angling but can't be a bad idea.

used to used the spring loaded red and white ball floats that came in dirt cheap kids outfits, the ones when you pressed the top the wire hook popped out the bottom so you could attach the line, for exactly the same thing when fishing the feeder with a massive bow in the line eg: across the flow on a wide river, it used to give good indication of when something was happening that wasn't normal.

replaced the whole idea with a sidewinder, could'nt find you a pic but its basically the end of a tip rod with one eye that clips to the rod above the reel with the line running through, it gives far better indication and isnt confused by the rain or wind
