Rod licence evasion is at a record low

Post by Stotty on Tue Oct 06, 2009 6:25 am

Rod licence evasion is at a record low

From Angling Times

At a time when more licences are being sold than ever, figures obtained from the Environment Agency show that the nation’s fishermen are cleaning up their act.

Improved bailiffing policies and awareness of regional ‘hotspots’ favoured by illegal anglers have been cited by the Agency as being central to the lower evasion rates, with all regions of the country showing fewer offenders, apart from the Thames area, which continues to be blighted by licence-dodgers Suspect

I’ve been fishing since I was a kid and I’ve been asked to produce my licence once or twice i think scratch but 3 times i have been asked for my one this year 1 by the EA and twice by bailiffs.

I know the bailiffs on our club are encouraged to ask for you license as well as your membership card

Been asked twice this season and twice last season, we have salmon in most of the rivers i fish which is probably why, its good news, coming from the only country in the british isles not to have a rod licence i have seen first hand the difference the money makes.
