No Fish Here................

I read with dismay today in angling times that some irish waters have erected signs saying " these waters have been poached, there are no fish here dont waste your time" They have said that gangs of eastern europeans are poaching the fish for business now rather than just pleasure, as the population of eastern europeans is growing its no surprise that shops are opening exclusively selling what they eat back home, shelfs of bream and carp are readily available for them to buy. One baillif said the tactic of choice was to throw in a car battery then simply net the stunned fish. Its tragic that its coming to this and i feel that soon there is going to be a major incident and only hope no one is hurt as the angling community would hate to say "i told you so" to the government who are continually ignoring our pleas for help with this problem. When Matt Hayes did the greater Rod Race they struggled on a lot of the waters in Ireland and he did say that the locals put a lot of this down to poaching. Badger is an expert on poaching he likes to steam his carp till they are just right for the Garlic dip .
