From Bluebell web site

Benson

Sadly I have to confirm that on Tuesday 28th July "Benson" was found dead.

At this time myself, staff and anglers are to devastated to be able to add any further information. Large quantities of nuts have been found on the bank and in the margins, empty bags have also been found in the skips.

I will post more information and subsequent details as they become available, and when i have come to terms with this whole sorry event.

Regard Tony

We remain open as normal, but expect stringent bait and tackle inspections

If it’s through unprepared particles that’s the pits Arrgh ! the problem with trophy fish is it not only attracts big fish anglers it attracts big t**ts.

in 1997 that fish was 38lb in 2000 Benson appears at a staggering 51lb 2oz, this was just under the British record. Later on that month Benson turns up again at 51lb l0oz now the British record common Carp.
2007 61lb now dead a shame but what makes a fish grow that big in the time span Next time you land your fifteenth ‘pasty’ or ‘crap fish’ you might consider that each fish could well become very big fish in time, or if it had been stocked in a different water what could it have been
