Anti's we have trouble ahead

What are they like?? I've caught some fish in my time that have gone back in the water better than when I caught them - twigs hanging out the sides and severe damage to their sides where people haven't been using a shrink tube etc!!!

PETA should focus their time on stopping real cruelty to animals NOT picking on anglers!

If they had their way we would all be vegetarians, then where would we be?????????

well that made me think....... think that there is some proper d**k heads out there, if they want to save the fish why dont they look at more practical things like KHV, poaching where the fish are being killed and eaten and polution thats mainly caused by people who dont fish or better yet they could just f**k off to a field in the middle of wales and s**t in a hole in the ground, bloody hippys. i would let them know what i think but by reading the other posts they are too narrow minded to listen to what anyone actualy thinks from "the other side". i felt i had to say something somewhere as reading that excuse for a website really annoyed me.

oh and if anyone "accidentally" broke my pole or one of my rods they would "accidentally" get headbutted into whatever body of water i happened to be next to

"Fish are hooked in agony, tortured for up to an hour": Thats a pretty strong carp!
"Death occurs in seconds and is painless": while being ripped to shreds by hounds
"Fish after being hooked, tortured, injured and eventually returned to the water frequently die hours or days later". Not by me they dont or i dare say any other real angler
"If hunting is banned thousands of horses and hounds will have to be killed": ?????????????????????????????

It all reminds me of a TV show i saw about a woman who wanted to ban cars. walking around in sandals, with hairy armpits and propbably breast fed her kids untill they were 7!!!!

They are happy to let horses and hounds be "killed" but, not Mr foxy loxy who to a lot of farmers is nothing but vermin!!! Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't like to see anything ripped apart but, as you say, sandals, hairy pits & no REAL idea!!!

I wish I'd caught a carp that fights for an hour!!! Any concientious angler carries all the correct tools for the job like klin-in, unhooking mat etc. They just don't know what to pick on next!!!

Honestly, don't worry about them. I met the anti vivisection/sabs in Glasgow city centre a couple of years ago and I took it upon myself to have an argument with them. I asked them who funds the EA, who funds SEPA, who funds LCAP, who pays for the restocking of our waterways, who reports the problems that occur on our waterways, who spends their time on our waterways all year round, regardless of the season or the weather, who spends 6 BILLION pounds a year on tackle, who takes part in the largest participation sport in the UK.......all the while I'm attracting rather large audience who had already signed or were about to sign their ill-founded petitions.....and they had little or nothing to say. Let it be said that I well and truly wrecked their little charade, much to the amusement of around 80-100 people. Many scrubbed their names, many didn't bother signing on reflection and many gave me a well-earned pat on the back for sticking up for what I believed in.

Take my word for it. They simply couldn't cope with the barrage I gave them and these people were supposed to be clued up. They couldn't AND wouldn't win ANY motion to have angling banned, in ANY UK hearing on the matter. They're far too over the top for anyone with half a brain to really take them seriously. Forget about them.

The threat simply does not exist....

yeah a poor sad little pathetic group like them couldn't possibly do any harm, i'm also not worried about them, more anglers now a days know how to look after and care for a captured fish more than these little piss ant pony groups who don't like "The Idea" of angling !

It's more about the damage they do when they turn up mob handed on the bank and you are fishing alone! I would take a couple with me but they just don't care!
